This story is an excellent description of the significant impact that even a “mild head injury” can have. I have seen many children in my practice with a history of such a mild head injury who are failing in school, being labeled as lazy, unmotivated or needing medication for ADHD, when this is the problem. We need to improve public, educational, and healthcare awareness of the impact and length of disability from even mild head injuries.
