This study is landmark in nature in that it showed the very real and devastating impact of poverty on child brain and emotional development.  The funny thing is that they were studying the effect of prenatal crack cocaine exposure, which hasn’t shown any strong adverse outcomes. 


This shows that we need to look at how to help children in poverty but also help the adults in their lives if we want children to reach their potential.
